SOLD OUT!
Beachy Birder Adventures + AP Sober Socials Seal and Bird Walk
Lindsay McNamara of Beachy Birder Adventures, in partnership with Asbury Park Sober Socials and the Sandy Hook Foundation, invites you to grab your favorite adventure buddy and join us for a bird walk on Sandy Hook on Saturday, February 28, from 10:30 am -12:30 pm. It’s Weird Duck Season, so we will look out for winter waterfowl, wading birds, songbirds, seals, and anyone else who is in the park.
Birding is for everyone. All are welcome on our friendly and respectful Beachy Birder Adventures!
We will meet at Gateway National Recreation Area, Sandy Hook unit in Guardian Park (with the grilling areas, covered benches and public restrooms) and then head out on the paved multi-use pathway. We will walk for about two miles. Please dress for the weather, wear closed-toe shoes, bring water, layers, snacks, a hat, and binoculars if you have them. We have five pairs of 8×25 birding binoculars for you to borrow as needed, and we will also have a spotting scope available.
Our outings are rain or shine but in the event of extreme weather we will reschedule for a more enjoyable experience. Let’s get birdy!
