Become a Lifesaving Inventor!
Step into the shoes of two real life heroes and inventors, Martha Coston and David Lyle, right here at Sandy Hook, where their groundbreaking lifesaving devices were tested and perfected in the 1870s.
In this hands-on experience, children ages 8–15 (accompanied by an adult) will become inventors for the day. They'll explore how to send a distress signal using light and take on the challenge of designing a way to launch a rope to a ship in trouble using an air-powered cannon.
Join us to learn, create, and discover the spirit of innovation that once saved lives along our shores!
No registration necessary. There will be 2 sessions for this event, please attend one. Stop by the Lifesaving Station at 2pm OR 3pm to participate.
